Studies on the antiserum sensitivity of the Klebsiella phage adsorbed to host bacteria

Abstract
|
|
|
The author has studied on the effect of anti-phage serum, which is introduced at the latent period of phage, on the multiplication of Klebsiella phage and obtained the following results.
The latent period and complete liberating time of phage were a little delayed by the antiserum added before the 6th minute of latent period and, the sooner the adding time of antiserum is, the more the delaying grade was remarkable. The phage multiplication was not influenced by the antiserum added at the 8th minute of latent period.
When the antiserum is added at the 2nd minute of latent period, the burst size of phage became a little lower and the antiserum added after the 2nd minute did not show any effect to the burst size.
